I am a biologist currently living and working in Davis, CA.
Most marine invertebrates were photographed during fieldwork in Rhode Island, Monterey Bay (CA) or Villefranche-sur-Mer (France). My macro photography has appeared in print in magazines “Bild der Wissenschaft” (Germany), “Cosmos” (Australia), “Der Spiegel” (Germany), “natur” (Germany), “NewScientist” (Netherlands), “The Biologist” (UK), “UNIVERSUM” (Austria), and “Wunderwelt Wissen” (Germany). It has also been featured online on nytimes.com, wired.com and washingtonpost.com among others.
I contributed photographs to the books “Plankton - Wonders of the drifting world” (Ulmer) and “Octopus, Squid and Cuttlefish” (University of Chicago Press).
Other photographs shown on this website happened along the way.
